Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. is seeking a Junior Secondary Design Engineer to join our GIS engineering team in Zürich, Switzerland. The role targets candidates with an EFZ apprenticeship in electrical engineering or related fields and 2–3 years of design or drafting experience.

You will develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and production documents for HV GIS substations. You’ll collaborate with senior engineers, project managers, and global teams, advancing toward greater technical ownership

Qualifications

EFZ apprenticeship in electrical drafting, automation, or related field.

Responsibilities

Prepare schematics and related engineering documents for GIS secondary engineering scopes, including LCC and digital substation applications.
Support engineering execution across project phases from base to detail design and manufacturing documentation.
Create preliminary BOMs, reports, and manufacturing documents using approved tools and processes.
Perform self-checks to ensure technically correct, high-quality deliverables.
Document and close open points through stakeholder engagement and collaboration.
Contribute to standardization and best practices within engineering teams.
