Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd in Zurich, Switzerland is seeking a Project Manager Primary Engineering to lead the technical planning and execution of gas-insulated switchgear projects, ensuring deliverables meet scope, schedule and quality.

You will coordinate with customers and internal teams, prepare detailed technical documentation, manage materials, and support manufacturing, installation and commissioning, with occasional travel to sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Several years of project engineering experience, preferably with gas-insulated switchgear or high-voltage systems.
• Strong planning, scheduling, cost, quality and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and manage the Primary Engineering scope for GIS projects, including cost, schedule and scope.
• Coordinate technical solutions with customers and internal teams.
• Prepare technical detailing of high-voltage components and related documentation for orders and approvals.
• Order and configure project-specific materials and manage communications with stakeholders.
• Support manufacturing, installation and commissioning and handle on-site activities as needed.
• Travel occasionally for customer meetings or site visits.
