Job summary

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed degree in Mechanical/Automotive/Mechatronics engineering.
• Interest in internal combustion engines, thermodynamics, simulation and Model-Based Development.
• Background in mathematical modelling, numerical simulation, data analysis.
• Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink; GT Power/Amesim are a plus.
• Curiosity, proactivity and motivation to develop technical skills in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Support development and improvement of engine and aftertreatment models for Model-Based Development (MBD).
• Contribute to the modelling and simulation of system behaviour, performance and operating conditions.
• Analyse and process test data to support model development, calibration and validation.
• Assist in verification and validation of models by comparing simulation results with experimental measurements.
• Collaborate with calibration, engine application and control system engineers to ensure models meet development needs.
• Prepare technical documentation and report on modelling activities, simulation results and findings.

Are you passionate about engine and aftertreatment technologies, simulation and model-based development? Are you looking for an opportunity to apply your engineering knowledge in an international industrial environment?

Join Liebherr Machines Bulle SA as a Talent - Engine Modelling and contribute to the development of engine and aftertreatment models supporting simulation, calibration and validation activities. Working closely with experienced engineers within our Engine Development department, you will gain hands-on experience in engine development, modelling and data analysis while strengthening your technical skills.

We are looking for a candidate available for 12 months internship as of February 2027.

Your responsibilities

• You support the development and improvement of engine and aftertreatment models for Model-Based Development (MBD) activities.

Your profile

• You are currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics or a related technical field.
• You have a strong interest in internal combustion engines, thermodynamics, simulation and Model-Based Development.
• You have a basis of mathematical modelling, numerical simulation and data analysis.
• You have familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink or similar modelling and simulation tools. Knowledge on 1D simulation tools like GT power or Amesim is an asset.
• You distinguish yourself by your curiosity, proactivity and motivation to develop technical skills in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
