Job summary

Liebherr Machines Bulle SA invites you to join our Engine Development team as a Young Talent - Engine Modelling for a 12-month internship starting February 2027. You will work on building and improving engine and aftertreatment models to support simulation, calibration and validation activities.

You will collaborate with experienced engineers, gain hands-on experience in modelling, data analysis and Model-Based Development, and contribute to documentation and continuous improvement of modelling

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical/Automotive/Mechatronics or related field.
• Strong interest in internal combustion engines, thermodynamics, simulation and Model-Based Development.
• Basis of mathematical modelling, numerical simulation and data analysis.
• Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink or similar modelling tools; GT Power/Amesim is a plus.
• Curiosity, proactivity and motivation to develop technical skills in a multi-disciplinary environment.

Responsibilities

• Support development and improvement of engine and aftertreatment models for Model-Based Development activities.
• Contribute to modelling and simulation of system behaviour, performance and operating conditions.
• Analyse and process test data to support model development, calibration and validation.
• Assist in verification and validation of models by comparing simulation results with measurements.

• Prepare technical documentation and report modelling activities and findings.

Join Liebherr Machines Bulle SA as a Young Talent - Engine Modelling and contribute to the development of engine and aftertreatment models supporting simulation, calibration and validation activities. Working closely with experienced engineers within our Engine Development department, you will gain hands-on experience in engine development, modelling and data analysis while strengthening your technical skills.

We are looking for a candidate available for 12 months internship as of February 2027.

Your responsibilities

• You support the development and improvement of engine and aftertreatment models for Model-Based Development (MBD) activities.
• You contribute to the modelling and simulation of system behaviour, performance and operating conditions.
• You analyse and process test data to support model development, calibration and validation.
• You assist in the verification and validation of models by comparing simulation results with experimental measurements.
• You collaborate with calibration, engine application and control system engineers to ensure models meet development needs.
• You prepare technical documentation and report on modelling activities, simulation results and findings.
• You contribute to the continuous improvement of modelling methodologies, simulation tools and development processes.

Your profile

• You are currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics or a related technical field.
• You have a strong interest in internal combustion engines, thermodynamics, simulation and Model-Based Development.
• You have a basis of mathematical modelling, numerical simulation and data analysis.
• You have familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink or similar modelling and simulation tools. Knowledge on 1D simulation tools like GT power or Amesim is an asset.
• You distinguish yourself by your curiosity, proactivity and motivation to develop technical skills in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
