Zusammenfassung

GE Vernova in Switzerland is seeking an entry-level Chemical Engineer to support project execution for new units, including dosing/sampling systems, water and wastewater treatment, and CEMS. Occasional site travel for inspections and commissioning at our Birr laboratory is expected.

You will contribute to NPI/NTI initiatives and leverage AI tools to drive process improvements, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality documentation on schedule.

Qualifikationen

• Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.
• Practical experience in a chemical laboratory environment.
• Foundational knowledge of Carbon Capture solutions.

• Safety & Culture: Prioritize safety and compliance while fostering a proactive, inclusive "one GEV" team environment.
• Design & Development: Execute engineering calculations and documentation. Support the design of water/steam cycle (WSC) systems—including Dosing, Sampling, CEMS, and WTP—balancing cost, performance, and reliability.
• AI & Innovation: Proactively leverage AI tools and digital solutions to drive process improvements, accelerate new technology development, and enhance overall work efficiency.
• Standardization: Apply lean engineering processes and contribute to component harmonization across the portfolio.
• Project Execution: Manage system requirements, drawings, and functional specifications. Ensure 100% quality and on-time delivery for all project documentation.
• Site & Lab Support: Conduct on-site inspections/commissioning and perform lab-based chemical analyses, providing detailed reports for internal and external customers.
• Continuous Improvement: Proactively improve product performance, reliability, and safety through design initiatives.
• Collaboration: Support cross-functional teams (Commissioning, Sourcing, Projects) and engage in peer‑to‑peer mentoring.
• Reporting: Provide weekly KPI updates and proactively communicate technical risks to leadership.

Desired Characteristics

• Self‑motivated: Ability to develop, document, and execute engineering assignments with limited supervision.
• Academic or project-based exposure to power plant water/steam cycle (WSC) chemistry is a plus.
• Proficiency in drafting software (Visio, Comos, or Aveva) is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively within a global, cross-functional engineering team.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly to business needs.
• Willingness to travel globally on short notice.
• Strong interpersonal, influencing, and communication skills.
