GE Vernova Gas Power in Birr seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to support production and engineering teams. You will optimize processes, maintain BOMs, routings, and master data in ERP/PLM while driving SQDC improvements. Mentoring junior staff and coordinating with Design and Procurement are essential.

Strong experience with PLM (Teamcenter/Enovia) and SAP in a manufacturing setting is expected, along with Lean/CI know‑how and technical German/English communication skills.

Qualifikationen

• Completed technical vocational training (Swiss EFZ or equivalent).
• Further education in a technical or management field (HF Technician, or B.Sc. in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering).
• Experience with PLM (Teamcenter or Enovia) and SAP.
• Experience in manufacturing/operations or HGP engineering environment.
• Ability to read complex drawings and quality docs; lean methods knowledge.

As a Manufacturing Engineer in the Manufacturing Engineering department (Hot Gas Parts/New Parts) at the GE Vernova production site in Birr, you will provide technical support to both production and engineering teams. Through process and cost optimization, you will maintain the organization’s competitiveness and drive results for our customers.

Job Description

What you’ll do

• Create and maintain manufacturing Bill of Materials (mBOM) within the PLM system and ensure seamless integration with the ERP system
• Define and maintain detailed routing steps, work instructions, and production cycle times for complex gas turbine components
• Perform cost comparisons and support annual standard price updates
• Coordinate the implementation of PLM part definition changes
• Manage and maintain master data for tooling, fixtures, and consumables within the ERP system to ensure production readiness
• Drive strategic initiatives to optimize overall production performance across Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC)
• Mentor and coach junior team members to foster technical development and ensure the transfer of specialized knowledge
• Serve as the primary interface between Design Engineering, Procurement, and Shop Floor Operations to resolve technical bottlenecks and ensure schedule adherence

What you’ll bring (Basic Qualifications)

• Completed technical vocational training (Swiss EFZ or equivalent), ideally as a Polymechanic or Design Engineer
• Further education in a technical or management field (e.g., HF Technician, Process Specialist, or a B.Sc. in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or equivalent knowledge and experience
• Proven experience working with PLM systems (ideally Teamcenter or Enovia)
• Hands‑on experience with ERP systems (ideally SAP)
• Experience in a manufacturing, operations, or Hot Gas Path (HGP) engineering environment
• Strong ability to interpret complex technical drawings, specifications, and quality documentation
• Working knowledge of Lean/Continuous Improvement (CI) methodologies
• Proficiency in German and English skills
