CSEM Neuchâtel invites a Trainee in System Engineering for Vision applications to join the Edge AI and Vision group. You will participate in hardware design and testing of demonstrators and test benches.

The role focuses on mechanical design, test setups for vision/optical systems, and analytical reporting. Strong CAD, Linux, and Python/C++ skills are desired, with a hands-on research mindset.

Qualifikationen

• : 3D modelling and CAD design experience with SolidWorks.
• : Degree in Micro-Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• : Experience with Linux embedded platforms.
• : Proficiency in Python, C++, and Linux.
• : Strong research interest and academic excellence.

Aufgaben

• Assist in mechanical design of demonstrators and test benches and their assembly.
• Assist in supplier sourcing for key components, supporting selection based on technical specs, availability, and cost.
• Participate in burn-in tests for prototypes and demonstrators (light sources, cameras, electronics, compute units, etc.).
• Develop and implement test setups in the laboratory for vision/optical system validation.
• Prepare, document, and operate optical characterization testbenches, ensuring repeatable and reliable procedures.
• Analyze measurement results and produce technical reports, including test procedures, results interpretation, and recommendations.
