Johnson Electric Group in Switzerland seeks an experienced Vehicle Thermal Management System Expert for Electrical Vehicles to design and optimize thermal architectures, including heat pumps and natural refrigerants. You will collaborate with simulation, design, test and control engineers, lead module development, and guide AI-assisted refinements while influencing product roadmaps in a global, agile environment.

Fluency in English is essential; additional French, German, or Italian is a plus.

As our next Vehicle Thermal Management System Expert for Electrical Vehicles, you’ll be at the forefront of designing and optimizing advanced thermal architectures. Your expertise in vehicle heat pump systems, thermal management, natural refrigerant, system development and simulation will help accelerate innovation and guide strategic decisions for next-generation e-System technologies.

Your responsibilities will be to:

• Lead the vehicle thermal system development and the design of cutting-edge thermal modules using sustainable refrigerants for automotive applications
• Collaborate with simulation, design, test and control engineers and cross-functional teams to drive innovation
• Specify, define, evaluate and validate submodule and components to meet performance and environmental goals
• Accountable for all technical exchange with supplier or partner and customer
• Integrate simulation insights and AI tools to refine system designs

Our requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in thermodynamics and thermal system design
• Previous experience in the automotive industry, with solid understanding of global thermal system regulations
• Master’s degree in Thermal Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; PhD is considered as an advantage
• Experience with using MATLAB, Dymola, GT Suites and 1D simulation software with additional programming skills in Python or R
• Experience of technical management of supplier or partner for sub-system, module or components
• Strongly collaborative, team-oriented mindset, with the ability to effectively work across cross-functional teams and coordinate multiple stakeholders
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to guide discussions, influence decisions, and take ownership of projects
• Fluency in French, German, or Italian in addition to English
