CERN is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for Vacuum to join the team developing vacuum systems for the FCC-ee project. You will participate in material selection, prototyping, and validation, and help internalize key manufacturing technologies for large components.

The role requires experience with metallic and ceramic materials for UHV, and knowledge of additive manufacturing and welding. On-site work and collaboration with CERN teams are essential.

Formación

• Experience with metallic and ceramic materials for UHV applications.
• Experience with metallic and ceramic additive manufacturing processes including plasma spray, cold gas dynamic spray and 3D SLM printing.
• CNC machining and CAM/CAD tooling experience.

Responsabilidades

• Actively participate in development of FCC-ee vacuum systems, including material selection, prototyping and validation.
• Internalise and develop in-house key manufacturing technologies for large component production.
• Collaborate with CERN-wide teams and external partners to advance vacuum system objectives.
• Communicate with CERN services and external institutes regularly.
