Zusammenfassung

CERN is seeking a Technical Engineer to support the surface coating and chemistry team in producing thin films for the accelerator complex. You will operate PVD coating setups, perform QC/validation, and contribute to tooling assembly and documentation.

Responsibilities include thickness and composition measurements with XRF, and collaboration on design and procurement. English skills required; French language learning encouraged.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field; PhD not permitted.
• At most 2 years of professional experience by the application deadline.
• English speaking and writing; French learning commitment.

Aufgaben

• Operate PVD coating setups (sputtering) including assembly, vacuum pumping, bakeout, deposition and disassembly.
• Measure thickness and composition of thin films using X-Ray Fluorescence spectrometer.
• Perform validation and quality control of Non-Evaporable Getter coatings.
