Job summary

CERN in Geneva invites applications for a Research Fellowship in Theoretical Physics to develop and lead your own research programme at the frontier of fundamental physics. You will work in an international, collaborative environment and contribute to the development of theoretical models, as well as analytical and computational research.

You will participate in CERN's seminars, trainings and collaborative projects, advancing particle physics understanding and strengthening the Theory

Qualifications

• PhD in theoretical physics or scheduled defence before taking up appointment.
• Six years or fewer of post-PhD research experience.
• Strong background in theoretical particle physics or related field.
• Research experience aligned with CERN Theory Department activities.
• Motivation to join a leading international research environment and contribute to high-impact science.
• Willingness to develop own research within the Fellowship framework.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in theoretical physics.
• Ability to collaborate within large international teams.
• Effective scientific communication, including presenting and discussing results.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to shared objectives and projects.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research in theoretical physics.
• Contribute to CERN's theoretical physics programme by developing innovative theoretical approaches and interpreting experimental results.
• Collaborate with theoretical and experimental physicists on particle physics and fundamental interactions.
