SGI in Basel invites an experienced Test Automation Engineer to design, implement, and maintain automated tests for a trade management/financial systems context.

You will integrate tests into CI/CD, collaborate with analysts, and mentor team members while enhancing test coverage for trade capture, settlement, risk reporting, and compliance. This role is based in Switzerland with relocation support where needed, and offers a 12-month contract.

WE are looking for An experienced Test Automation Engineer with a strong technical background in automating test cases for complex systems, particularly in the context of trade management or financial systems.

This is a 12 month contract and requires candidates to be based or be willing to relocate to Switzerland.

Role:

• Review existing test cases for the trade management system and associated systems to identify areas for automation.
• Design, implement, and maintain automated test cases for functional, integration, and regression testing across the end-to-end trade lifecycle.
• Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand trade processes and ensure comprehensive test coverage for scenarios such as trade capture, settlement, risk management, and reporting.
• Develop and maintain test automation frameworks that are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with industry best practices.
• Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline to enable continuous testing.
• Monitor and analyze test results, identify defects, and collaborate with the team to resolve them.
• Document test plans, test cases, and test results, ensuring traceability to requirements.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to other team members on test automation practices.
• Contribute to the overall testing strategy and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of experience in test automation, with hands‑on expertise in designing and implementing automated test cases for complex systems.
• Strong experience with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, or similar).
• Hands‑on experience with scripting languages like Python, Java, or C#.
• Experience with API testing and tools like Postman or REST Assured.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD) and integrating automated tests into pipelines.
• Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA).
