Ingersoll Rand plc is seeking a highly motivated Technical Internal Sales Engineer to support the preparation of competitive technical offers for containment and powder handling equipment in the pharmaceutical industry.

The role involves close collaboration with sales, field application specialists, automation, and project teams to develop tailored solutions that meet customer requirements and regulatory standards.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• Experience in technical sales, proposal engineering, or application engineering within pharma or life sciences.
• Knowledge of containment technologies, GMP/FDA regulations; ability to read P&IDs and drawings.
• Fluent in English; French and German skills preferred.

• Analyze customer inquiries and URS for containment systems and powder handling.
• Develop technical proposals for isolators and containment systems.
• Define technical solutions based on customer needs, GMP and regulatory standards.
• Prepare detailed quotations with scope of supply and GMP compliance.
• Collaborate with internal engineering, process, and project teams to validate feasibility.
• Support the sales team during customer discussions, clarifications, and bid negotiations.
• Identify technical risks and propose mitigations during the proposal phase.
• Ensure all proposals comply with pharmaceutical regulations and safety standards.
• Maintain technical documentation, proposal templates, and knowledge databases.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of proposal processes and tools.

About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated Technical Internal Sales Engineer to support the preparation of competitive and compliant technical offers for containment and powder handling equipment used in the pharmaceutical industry. The role involves close collaboration with sales, field application specialist, automation, and project teams to develop tailored solutions that meet customer requirements, regulatory standards, and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze customer inquiries, specifications, and URS (User Requirement Specifications) related to pharmaceutical containment systems and powder handling processes.
• Develop technical proposals for equipment such as isolators, containment systems, transfer systems, and powder handling solutions.
• Define appropriate technical solutions based on customer needs, including containment performance (OEB/OEL levels), ergonomics, cleaning requirements, and process integration.
• Prepare detailed quotations, including technical descriptions, scope of supply, and compliance with GMP and industry standards.
• Collaborate with internal engineering, process, and project management teams to validate feasibility and ensure alignment with company capabilities.
• Support the sales team during customer discussions, technical clarifications, and bid negotiations.
• Identify technical risks and propose mitigation strategies during the proposal phase.
• Ensure all proposals comply with applicable pharmaceutical regulations (GMP, FDA, EU guidelines) and safety standards.
• Maintain technical documentation, proposal templates, and knowledge databases.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of proposal processes and tools.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in technical sales, proposal engineering, or application engineering within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
• Knowledge of containment technologies and powder handling systems, understanding of pharmaceutical regulations (GMP, FDA) and containment performance standards (OEB/OEL) would be an advantage
• Ability to interpret P&IDs, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, French and German
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple proposals simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in MS Office; experience with ERP/CRM systems is an advantage.
