Jobtailor in Zürich is seeking an experienced Senior Backend Lead to design and operate scalable Java services. You will own end-to-end delivery, drive architecture decisions and lead by example in a regulated financial environment.

Collaborate with product and business teams to translate requirements into robust solutions, while focusing on observability, security and performance. Strong German and English communication is essential.

Qualifikationen

• 7+ years of professional software development experience with substantial backend development in Java.
• Proven experience as a Technical Lead including design reviews, coaching, and delivering successful projects.
• Strong Docker and production Kubernetes experience.
• Extensive CI/CD pipeline experience, ideally GitLab CI.
• Solid understanding of software architecture, distributed systems and cloud-native design.
• Excellent communication with product, engineering and business stakeholders.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Fluent German (B2) and English (B2).
• Willingness to work on-site in Zurich at least 3 days per week.
• Valid Swiss work permit and residence in Switzerland.

Aufgaben

• Design and development of scalable backend services in Java on Kubernetes.
• End-to-end responsibility for delivering features from concept to production.
• Provide technical leadership with focus on code quality and debt reduction.
• Maintain observability, security, performance and compliance in a regulated environment.
• Collaborate with product, business and other engineering teams to translate requirements.
• Hands-on leadership contributing to the codebase.
