Jobtailor in Zürich is seeking an experienced Senior Backend Lead to design and operate scalable Java services. You will own end-to-end delivery, drive architecture decisions and lead by example in a regulated financial environment.

Qualifikationen

• 7+ years of professional software development experience with substantial backend development in Java.
• Proven experience as a Technical Lead including design reviews, coaching, and delivering successful projects.
• Strong Docker and production Kubernetes experience.
• Extensive CI/CD pipeline experience, ideally GitLab CI.
• Solid understanding of software architecture, distributed systems and cloud-native design.
• Excellent communication with product, engineering and business stakeholders.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Fluent German (B2) and English (B2).
• Willingness to work on-site in Zurich at least 3 days per week.
• Valid Swiss work permit and residence in Switzerland.

• Design and development of scalable backend services in Java and their operation as containerized workloads on Kubernetes
• End-to-end responsibility for delivering features — from concept and design through implementation, review and release to production operations
• Technical leadership — together with the Product Architect and developers you set the technical direction and maintain focus on code quality, evolution of our technology stack, and reduction of technical debt
• Operational excellence — observability, security, performance and compliance according to the standards of a regulated financial environment
• Close collaboration with product, business and other engineering teams to translate requirements into robust technical solutions
• Hands‑on — you lead by example and contribute directly to the codebase

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional software development experience, including substantial backend development in Java
• Several years of experience as a Technical Lead, including performing design and code reviews, coaching teams, and owning successful deliveries
• Solid practical experience with containerization (Docker) and production Kubernetes orchestration
