Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Technical Implementation Lead based in Switzerland.

This is an opportunity to lead complex technical implementations for enterprise customers using a global shipping and eCommerce technology platform. You will own the implementation lifecycle from pre-sales discovery and solution design through development, go-live, shipment migration, and customer handover. Acting as the primary technical expert, you will help customers integrate APIs, custom applications, and existing business systems into reliable shipping workflows. You will work closely with enterprise sales teams, solutions developers, product specialists, and customer success teams to deliver solutions that meet business needs. The role combines hands-on technical troubleshooting with project leadership, stakeholder management, and commercial accountability. You will manage multiple implementations simultaneously while ensuring clear scope, timelines, pricing, and delivery expectations. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced technical professional who enjoys solving integration challenges and improving how businesses manage global commerce.

Accountabilities

As the Technical Implementation Lead, you will oversee enterprise integrations from initial discovery through successful deployment, ensuring technical solutions are clearly defined, commercially viable, and delivered according to agreed expectations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead technical discovery sessions alongside Enterprise and Strategic Sales teams, mapping customer systems such as eCommerce platforms, enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, order management systems (OMS), and warehouse management systems (WMS).

  • Assess customer requirements, technical constraints, data flows, and product compatibility to determine the most suitable integration approach.

  • Own solution architecture and design for each implementation, including API endpoints, webhooks, authentication, data mapping, and integration patterns.

  • Present clear technical recommendations and guide customers toward an agreed solution that meets their requirements and aligns with platform capabilities.

  • Define, prepare, and approve Statements of Work (SoWs) for projects involving APIs, custom applications, or platform customisations, specifying deliverables, go-live dates, forecast shipment volumes, and support arrangements.

  • Resolve technical questions from customers and internal teams before sales completion and throughout implementation, using tools such as Postman or Insomnia to reproduce issues and investigate requests, responses, and logs.

  • Lead technical kick-off meetings and ongoing discussions with customer engineering teams, technical contacts, and senior stakeholders.

  • Partner with Solutions Developers to align on implementation scope and architecture, resolve technical blockers, and verify that delivered solutions meet the agreed Statement of Work.

  • Manage multiple implementations concurrently, tracking milestones, dependencies, risks, change requests, and progress from contract signature through go-live and shipment volume migration.

  • Own implementation escalations and develop recovery plans when projects encounter delays, technical issues, or shipment volumes below forecast.

  • Coordinate structured handovers to Customer Success Managers and Customer Support teams, ensuring they have the technical documentation and context needed to support customers after launch.

  • Maintain governance over custom integrations and builds, documenting supported solutions, associated costs, and the register of custom implementations in production.

  • Turn recurring technical questions into clear documentation and reusable guidance to improve implementation efficiency.

  • Identify product limitations and recurring integration challenges, communicating them to Product and Engineering teams with a clear business rationale for potential improvements.

  • Use AI tools effectively to support implementation workflows, review generated outputs carefully, and translate technical findings into clear, actionable language.

Requirements

You will bring substantial experience in technical implementation, solutions architecture, or a similar customer-facing technical role, together with strong API integration expertise and the ability to manage complex projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • At least five years of experience in technical implementation, solutions architecture, or a comparable technical customer-facing role, including enterprise SaaS implementations.

  • Expert, hands‑on knowledge of REST APIs, webhooks, and integration patterns.

  • Strong understanding of authentication mechanisms, including OAuth 2.0, single sign‑on (SSO), and API keys.

  • Proficiency with JSON, data mapping, and SQL, as well as practical experience using Postman or Insomnia to test and troubleshoot integrations.

  • A structured approach to technical troubleshooting, including diagnosing HTTP status codes, rate limits, error handling, retry mechanisms, and issues identified through system logs.

  • Familiarity with integrations between eCommerce platforms, ERP systems, warehouse management tools, and shipping services.

  • Experience defining implementation scope, preparing Statements of Work, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and maintaining clear boundaries around scope, pricing, and change requests.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to communicate complex technical topics to both technical and non‑technical audiences, including senior decision‑makers.

  • The ability to assess competing requirements, make clear recommendations, and build stakeholder alignment around a practical technical solution.

  • Excellent technical writing and documentation skills, with strong written and verbal communication in English.

  • The ability to use AI tools productively while critically reviewing agent‑generated outputs for accuracy, relevance, and clarity.

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities, dependencies, risks, and delivery milestones.

  • Additional advantages: Experience with Python or JavaScript, a background in logistics or eCommerce, familiarity with Shopify or Squarespace, experience with Celigo or Zapier integrations, or previous experience using the platform.

Benefits
  • Competitive remuneration: A generous compensation package reflecting experience and responsibilities.

  • Equity participation: Stock units offering an opportunity to share in the organisation's long‑term success.

  • Health and wellness support: Reimbursement of gym memberships and wellness expenses.

  • Remote work flexibility: The freedom to work from anywhere for up to four weeks per year.

  • Generous annual leave: A vacation policy designed to support work‑life balance and time away from work.

  • Duvet days: Additional flexibility to take time off when you need rest and recovery.

  • Mental health days: Dedicated time to prioritise mental wellbeing.

  • International exposure: The opportunity to work with enterprise customers and teams involved in global eCommerce and shipping integrations.

  • Professional development: Hands‑on experience with API architecture, enterprise SaaS implementations, complex technical integrations, and cross‑functional collaboration.
