Zusammenfassung

Sygnum Bank is seeking a hands-on Tech Lead for our Frontend Platform. You will own the NX monorepo, shared libraries, and design system components, while guiding architectural choices and building a high-performing team.

You’ll collaborate with product teams, mentor engineers, and drive platform initiatives across multiple applications. Ideal candidates bring strong React architecture experience, leadership skills, and a track record in observability, performance and secure development

About the role

As Tech Lead for our Frontend Platform team, you'll own the foundation that every frontend engineer builds on. You'll lead a small team responsible for our NX monorepo, shared libraries, design system components, and the tooling and standards that keep our frontend applications a coherent as they grow.

You're a hands‑on technical leader who combines strong engineering skills with the ability to set direction and bring people with you, driving the platform roadmap, guiding architectural decisions in line with our enterprise architecture, and building a team where engineers do their best work. This is not a purely technical role: you'll manage a team, supporting their growth and development alongside the day-to-day delivery. You work closely with product teams and their Tech Leads to make sure the platform serves their needs.

What you'll be working on

• Lead the Frontend Platform team. Set technical direction, drive the team's roadmap and priorities, and lead day-to-day delivery. Balance long-term platform investments with the immediate needs of the teams that depend on you.
• Own frontend architecture end-to-end. Make and guide architectural decisions across our NX monorepo — applications and custom libraries — in alignment with our enterprise architecture. Keep the system coherent as it grows, and prevent the drift and duplication that comes with scale.
• Treat the platform as a product. Understand what frontend teams need, gather feedback, and shape the roadmap around it. Own how shared libraries are versioned and released so changes roll out safely across all consuming applications.
• Strengthen observability and reliability. Improve how we monitor, measure, and understand our frontend applications in production — error tracking, performance, and real-user monitoring. Get involved in incident response and drive root cause analysis that leads to real fixes.
• Drive adoption of AI-assisted development. We're early adopters of Claude Code. You'll work with frontend teams to establish practical workflows, measure impact, and push what's possible with these tools.
• Raise the bar on how we build. Own testing strategy, developer experience and build tooling (Nx caching, CI speed), and secure‑by‑default client‑side practices. Partner with design to keep our design system and component libraries consistent across applications.
• Grow the engineers around you. Mentor your team and the wider frontend org on architecture, performance, and secure‑by‑default practices. Pair with people, review code, and help Tech Leads level up their teams.
• Strong experience designing and scaling frontend architecture in React, ideally within a monorepo (NX or similar) supporting multiple applications and shared libraries.
• Experience leading a team — setting direction, driving a roadmap, and delivering as a group, while staying hands‑on.
• A good grasp of frontend observability, performance, and secure development practices.
• Experience building reliable, maintainable frontend systems that multiple teams build on.
• Comfort working across team boundaries and balancing platform priorities against the needs of the teams that depend on you.
• A desire to mentor others and share knowledge openly.

Nice to have

• Experience running a platform or developer‑experience team.
• Experience with backend development (NestJS) and identity providers (IDPs)
• Experience with mobile app development (React Native or similar).
• Experience in Banking or regulated environments.
