Job summary

UNITED MACHINING is seeking a Teamleader (d/f/m) in Biel to oversee the Electrical Cabinet Assembly team of about 10 employees. You’ll lead technical and people development, ensure quality and safety standards, and coordinate orders to meet deadlines and cost targets.

Strong communication and initiative are essential. We value a technical apprenticeship, ideally with leadership qualifications, plus SAP and Excel skills.

• Requires a technical apprenticeship, preferably in automation or a similar field.
• Leadership or people-management qualification is a plus.
• You are a solution-oriented, assertive and communicative professional with a drive for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• You manage the Electrical Cabinet Assembly team of about 10 people, including their development and knowledge retention.
• You ensure high quality standards and compliance with safety regulations in assembly operations.
• You coordinate assembly orders after planning and meet delivery deadlines and cost targets.
• You support day-to-day operations and drive ongoing improvement projects in the department.

Your tasks

• You are responsible for the technical and people management of the Electrical Cabinet Assembly team of approximately 10 employees, including their development, skills enhancement, and knowledge retention
• You ensure high quality standards in assembly operations and guarantee compliance with all applicable safety regulations
• You are responsible for coordinating assembly orders following the planning phase and ensuring that delivery deadlines and assembly cost targets are consistently met
• You actively support day-to-day operations and work closely on projects aimed at the continuous development and improvement of the department

Your profile

• You have successfully completed a technical apprenticeship, preferably as an Automation Technician or in a similar field, and ideally hold a qualification in leadership or people management
• Previous experience in the machine engineering industry would be a distinct advantage
• You are a solution-oriented, assertive, and communicative professional who enjoys taking on new challenges and driving continuous improvement
• user knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Excel is desirable
• Excellent language skills are essential for this role. English language skills are considered an asset
