Jobbeschreibung

As a System Architect, you play a leading technical role in the development of advanced positioning solutions. Leveraging your deep expertise in GNSS technologies, you derive system architectures and technical solution concepts from stakeholder and product requirements.

You define system structures, interfaces, requirements, and technical concepts across disciplines and collaborate with component architects to ensure a coherent overall system architecture. You facilitate architectural decisions, evaluate technical trade-offs, and ensure alignment between business objectives, customer requirements, and implementation constraints.

Throughout development, integration, and verification, you provide technical guidance and ensure consistency between requirements, architecture, and delivered functionality.

You ensure that system-level architecture concepts are grounded in GNSS application needs and positioning use cases, so that hardware, software, and platform decisions deliver clear product value.

This position reports to the director of platform system architecture and can be located in Thalwil, Switzerland or Tampere, Finland.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Derive system requirements from stakeholder and product requirements
  • Lead and contribute to the creation, evaluation, and maintenance of technical solution concepts and system architectures.
  • Define system-level requirements, interfaces, and performance budgets
  • Conduct trade-off analyses and technical feasibility assessments
  • Align architectural decisions with stakeholders and development teams
  • Guide component architects and ensure architectural consistency across subsystems
  • Support implementation, integration, verification, and validation activities
  • Identify technical risks and propose mitigation strategies
Secondary Tasks:
  • Support product, technology, and platform roadmap definition
  • Contribute to the evaluation of emerging GNSS technologies and positioning methods
  • Participate in industry collaborations, standardization activities, and technical forums
  • Liaise with external stakeholders, operators, consultants, and research organizations
  • Contribute to the definition and continuous improvement of systems engineering processes, methods, and tools
  • Support innovation initiatives and technical feasibility studies
Your Skills and Experience:
  • Master's degree, PhD, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Geodesy or related field.
  • Strong and broad GNSS knowledge, including applications
  • Strong knowledge of systems engineering and architecture methodologies
  • Experience in requirements engineering and technical specification development
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Self-driven, structured, and capable of working independently in complex technical environments
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence technical decisions across organizational boundaries
