Job summary

ipso Haus des Lernens AG in Rheinfelden, Switzerland, seeks a motivated Substitute Teacher (m/f/d) for primary and secondary levels within a bilingual German–English program. You will cover for absent teachers and maintain continuity with prepared materials.

Fluent German and very good English are required, and you should be available on short notice. A recognised teaching diploma is an advantage, with the school offering an international, supportive team and a flexible workload by arrangement.

Qualifications

• A recognised teaching diploma for primary or secondary level is an advantage but not a requirement.
• Alternatively, a bachelor’s or master’s degree and experience working in education.
• Fluent German and very good English are required.
• Available at short notice; assignments can be day-to-day.
• Open to our bilingual concept combining Swiss Lehrplan 21 with IB.

Responsibilities

• Cover for absent teachers, usually for single days.
• Teach at primary or secondary level in German or English depending on the assignment.
• Continue lessons using the class teacher’s materials so learning continues without interruption.
• Work closely with the class teachers and partner teachers.

Your responsibilities

• You cover for absent teachers, usually for single days.
• You teach at primary or secondary level, in German or English depending on the assignment.
• You continue lessons using the class teacher’s materials so that students can keep learning without interruption.
• You work closely with the class teachers and partner teachers.

• You are available at short notice. As a rule, you will be informed of an assignment the day before.
• You quickly settle into new classes and stay calm in unexpected situations.
