Zusammenfassung

ETH Zürich is seeking a reliable student assistant to design and develop data infrastructure for Grid2050 and energy research. You will tackle scalability, resilience, and adaptability across containerized environments and data pipelines.

The role focuses on building secure, high-performance infrastructure, dashboards, and APIs to provide researchers with live insights into grid behavior, while collaborating with ETH Zurich academics and industry partners.

Qualifikationen

• You are an ETH student enrolled in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or related fields.
• You are fluent in English; German is a plus but not mandatory.
• You are available to work approximately 8-15 hours per week.
• You have strong expertise in Git, Python, and Linux development environments.
• Ideally you have worked with RabbitMQ, Grafana, SQL, Docker, and front-end development.

Aufgaben

• Infrastructure Development: Work in containerd environments ensuring security, availability, scalability and accountability of our servers.
• Communication Pipeline: Extend data and command transmission infrastructure between ETH, utilities, and energy management systems.
• Databases: Work with time-series databases designed for high-volume ingestion and low-latency queries.
• Reliability & Recovery: Implement replication, backup, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Front-end Development: Build visualization dashboards (Grafana) and remote APIs for live grid insights.
