Zusammenfassung

CERN's Storage and Data Management group is developing the next-generation backup solution for CERN services, including long-term archival and distribution of LHC data to a global scientific community. The TAB section manages the CERN Tape Archive and 1.5 PB of cold data.

The role combines R&D, software development and operations in a hybrid setup in Switzerland. As a Computing Engineer (S3 Storage and Backup Systems) you will work on integrating backup orchestration with disk and tape storage,

Qualifikationen

• Experience in software development with C++ on Linux.
• Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.

Aufgaben

• Integrating backup orchestration with disk and tape storage.
• Developing and maintaining software in C++/Linux, client and server.
• Systems integration, configuration management, testing, monitoring and alerting.
• Planning migration of services to the new backup solution.
• Providing operations support and documentation.
