Job summary

Sonar is seeking a highly impactful Staff Engineer to join the Identity Squad within the StoreFront department. You will architect and deliver secure identity solutions that span on-premises and AWS cloud offerings, impacting millions of developers.

You will mentor engineers, own end-to-end delivery, and partner with Product Managers and other Staff/Principal engineers to align architecture with business goals. Join a global team driving AI code verification and governance at scale.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering with leadership or architecture experience.
• Ability to drive initiatives with minimal supervision.
• Experience mentoring teammates.
• Proficient in Java and committed to clean code and quality.
• Experience architecting cloud-native applications.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and SQL.
• IAM knowledge, including AuthN/AuthZ protocols (OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, JWT).
• Experience with AI coding tools (Codex, Claude).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with UX, Product Management, and engineering to deliver secure features with a good user experience.
• Own squad deliverables and drive sprint progress to completion.
• Architect and guide the design of on-premises and AWS cloud applications.
• Oversee deployment, monitoring, and live issue resolution.
• Mentor engineers to grow their technical skills and autonomy.
• Help define the team’s short- and long-term goals.
