Job summary

Google LLC in Zurich is seeking a Staff Research Software Engineer (R-SWE) to lead Co-Scientist development, a multi-agent AI system built on Gemini. You will translate AI research into scalable software and guide design across multi-agent reasoning models.

You will collaborate with DeepMind, Google Research, and universities, mentoring junior engineers while delivering robust, scalable AI software for Google Cloud AI Research.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development, including testing and launching software products.
• 3 years of experience optimizing ML infrastructure (model deployment, evaluation, data processing, debugging, fine tuning).
• 2 years of experience with GenAI techniques (LLMs, Multi-Modal, Large Vision Models) or GenAI concepts.

Responsibilities

• Own projects end-to-end from research concepts to deployment and evaluation.
• Build and deploy agentic AI systems using multi-agent prompting techniques.
• Drive technical decisions and full-stack development with Python, C++, and back-end components.
• Design evaluation pipelines, tests, and datasets to measure agent performance at scale.
• Collaborate with Google DeepMind, Google Research, and universities; mentor engineers.
