Job summary

CIlag AG in Schaffhausen, part of the Johnson & Johnson family, seeks a Senior Project Engineer to lead aseptic fill-finish projects, drive design, installation and qualification of production equipment and utilities.

You will coordinate with QA, EHS&S and global teams, manage budgets and timelines in a fast-paced pharmaceutical setting, and contribute to a strong EHS culture while delivering high-quality manufacturing solutions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of related business experience in project engineering within pharma or chemical industries.
• Excellent organization and communication skills with ability to influence and align stakeholders.
• Knowledge of project management approaches; FPX or Lean certification is a plus.
• Fluency in German and English; willingness to travel regionally (<10%).

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering projects for aseptic fill-finish, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance (EHS, cGMP) in all activities.
• Collaborate with Business Units, QA, EHS&S and global teams for project funding and execution.
• Develop and present business cases supporting project approvals.
• Uphold Johnson & Johnson Credo and leadership standards in all tasks.

We are looking for a Senior Project Engineer with in our engineering team to lead technical projects in the field of aseptic fill finish. As Project Engineer he/she will be contributing to the design, installation and qualification of production equipment, infrastructure and utilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accountable for Engineering project management and project execution to high standards, ensure projects completed on time and on budget
• Responsible and accountable for the safe execution of job activities in compliance with EHS guidelines, environmental, regulatory (cGMP), corporate site and team practices and procedures
• Close collaboration with stakeholders on site (Business Units, QA, EHS&S, sustainability, etc) as well as with the global organization (MAM LM Platform, Engineering & Property Services)
• Initiation of business cases supporting the project funding approval processes
• The successful applicant will strive to perform to high standards at all times in line with our Credo and Standards of Leadership

Qualifications

Education:

• University degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical or Chemical discipline

Experience and Skills:

Required:

• A minimum of 5 years of related business experience and a proven track record in Project Engineering in the pharmaceutical or chemical industry
• Excellent organization and communication skills with the ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal
• Familiarity with project management approaches, engineering processes and design thinking methodology. Certification in FPX and or Lean processes are a plus.
• Self-driven, well-organized and able to set own targets
• Decisiveness, brainpower and aim to take care of various issues and projects simultaneously
• Collaboration with others and work well in project teams

Other:

• Language skills: Fluency (oral and written) in German and English with exceptional communication skills
• This role may require occasionally regional travel, as needed (less than 10%)
