Job summary

Try&Hire is seeking a software engineer to develop and maintain laboratory software solutions for system integration, automation and connectivity, spanning instruments, robotics platforms and enterprise apps.

You will collaborate with global teams, contribute to robot programming platforms, and ensure high quality through testing, documentation and CI/CD in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS, SWE, CE or related field.
• Several years of professional software development experience in system integration environments.
• Strong OO programming in .NET/C#, web programming and Python.
• Experience with REST/SOAP, OPC UA, XML/JSON, cloud, Docker, Kubernetes and authentication tech.
• English fluency; German knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, maintain and improve laboratory automation and robotics solutions, including robot programming platforms.
• Own robotic cells used for demonstration, exploration of new use cases and feasibility studies.

• Provide technical consulting and engineering support for internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure high software quality through testing, documentation, deployment and secure development practices.
• Support advanced robotics environments, AI-enabled automation solutions and simulation environments.

Your tasks

• Develop, maintain and enhance laboratory software solutions for system integration, automation and connectivity
• Design, maintain and improve laboratory automation and robotics solutions, including robot programming platforms
• Own robotic cells used for demonstration, exploration of new use cases and feasibility studies
• Collaborate with global development teams, business stakeholders, integration partners and vendors
• Provide technical consulting and engineering support for internal and external stakeholders

What you bring

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Automation Engineering or a related technical discipline
• Several years of professional experience in software development, ideally in system integration environments
• Strong object-oriented programming skills, ideally in .NET/C#, Web-based programming and Python
• Understanding of software engineering best practices including source control, code reviews, automated testing and CI/CD
• Familiarity with REST/SOAP APIs, OPC UA, XML/JSON, cloud technologies, Docker, Kubernetes and authentication technologies
• Ideally experience with robot programming platforms and industrial robot controllers
• Fluent in English (oral and written); German language skills are a plus
