Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems or a comparable technical field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in Automotive Software Development.
• At least 3 years of hands-on Functional Safety experience.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 26262 and/or IEC 61508.
• Experience with Infineon AURIX microcontrollers.
• Experience with ASPICE and safety-critical software development.
• Knowledge of STM32 microcontrollers is an advantage.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills; collaboration with engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement functional safety concepts for embedded automotive software per ISO 26262 and IEC 61508.
• Define, review and maintain software safety requirements and verification criteria.
• Support the Functional Safety Manager in FSC development and system requirements.
• Perform software safety analyses, including FMEA and DSA.
• Collaborate with software architects to integrate safety requirements into architectures.

At Safeguard Global, we are supporting an established international technology company in the automotive and e-mobility sector in its search for an experienced Software Engineer – Functional Safety.

Our client specializes in the development of advanced power electronics and innovative embedded systems for next-generation E-mobility and charging technologies.

We are looking for a specialist who can take ownership of functional safety requirements and contribute to the development of reliable, safety-critical automotive software.

Your Responsibilities

• Develop and implement functional safety concepts for embedded automotive software in accordance with ISO 26262 and IEC 61508.
• Define, review and maintain software safety requirements and verification criteria.
• Support the Functional Safety Manager in developing Functional Safety Concepts (FSC) and system requirements.
• Perform software safety analyses, including FMEA and DSA.
• Collaborate with software architects to integrate safety requirements into software architectures, components and interfaces.
• Support safety planning, technical reviews and external functional safety audits.

Your Profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems or a comparable technical field.
• At least 7 years of experience in Automotive Software Development.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in Functional Safety.
• Strong practical knowledge of ISO 26262 and/or IEC 61508.
• Hands-on experience with Infineon AURIX microcontrollers.
• Experience with ASPICE, safety analysis methods and safety-critical software development.
• Knowledge of STM32 microcontrollers is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work across engineering teams.
• Very good English skills; German is an advantage but not mandatory.
