Job summary

AdvanceH2, LLC. is seeking a Functional Safety Engineer to embed safety into fuel cell systems and lead hazard analysis across hardware, software and controls. The role focuses on ensuring compliance, safety, and certifiability for hydrogen energy systems.

You will apply HARA, FMEDA/FTA methods and safety standards knowledge (IEC 61508, ISO 26262, ISO 13849) while collaborating with experts. English is mandatory; German/French are a plus. This is a full-time position in the Swiss energy sector.

Qualifications

• Must hold a BSc/MSc in electrical/electronic/mechatronic/control or safety engineering.
• 3–5 years of functional safety experience in industrial, energy or hydrogen systems.
• Working knowledge of IEC 61508, ISO 13849, ISO 26262 and/or IEC 62061.
• Hands-on with HARA, FMEA/FMEDA, FTA and safety requirements engineering.
• Understanding of safety-related hardware, embedded software and control architectures.
• Hydrogen, high-voltage or pressure system safety is a strong plus.
• Fluent English; French or German is a plus.
• Functional safety certification (e.g. TÜV FSEng) is a plus.

To help achieve our vision of a decarbonised future we are seeking a Functional Safety Engineer to embed safety into our fuel cell systems, leading hazard analysis and safety engineering across hardware, software and controls to ensure our products are safe, compliant and certifiable.

Requirements

• BSc/MSc in electrical, electronic, mechatronic, control or safety engineering is mandatory
