Job summary

Proton is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to join the Infrastructure Systems team in Geneva/Paris. You will manage a global server network, implement automation for reliability, and contribute to on-call incident response across diverse networks and environments.

You should bring Linux expertise, Kubernetes IaC experience, Python scripting, and strong knowledge of monitoring with Prometheus and Grafana. The role focuses on security, scalability, and resilience.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Linux internals, networking stack, and kernel tuning.
• Experience with Kubernetes orchestration and IaC tooling (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet).
• Python proficiency for automation tasks.
• Ability to design highly available, distributed systems.
• Hands-on monitoring with Prometheus and Grafana.
• Understanding of security best practices for infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and optimize Proton's global infrastructure across thousands of servers.
• Design and implement automation to achieve 99.95%+ uptime.
• Participate in on-call rotations and troubleshoot complex network and censorship scenarios.
• Develop monitoring systems for real-time visibility of the global platform.
• Engineer connectivity, stability, performance, scalability, and security improvements.
