Jobtailor seeks a Senior Microsoft System Engineer to design, implement and maintain large-scale Windows Server environments. You will manage Active Directory, Entra ID, ADFS/Okta and drive automation with PowerShell across an enterprise setup in Zürich, Switzerland.

Ideal candidates have hands-on experience with MECM, System Center and ITIL processes, plus strong scripting, security practices and collaboration skills to support modernization initiatives.

Qualifikationen

• Several years of hands‑on experience as a Microsoft System Engineer in complex enterprise environments.
• Proven experience supporting infrastructures with more than 1,000 users.
• Senior or Expert level with technical leadership and deep infrastructure expertise.
• Strong expertise with Windows Server 2016 or newer.
• Excellent knowledge of enterprise server security best practices.
• Experience with server installation, configuration, patching and update management.
• Advanced AD administration.
• Experience with Microsoft Entra ID administration.
• Experience with ADFS and/or Okta.
• Experience with MECM and System Center solutions.
• Experience with Ansible is a strong advantage.
• Experience with enterprise Identity Management solutions.
• Knowledge of Omada and Adaxes is desirable.
• Strong PowerShell scripting skills.
• Experience developing automation for operations.
• Experience analyzing system logs and troubleshooting.
• ITIL process understanding.
• Documentation of infrastructure changes and procedures.
• Contribute to infrastructure improvements and modernization.
• Microsoft certifications desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently in large enterprise environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• English language skills at B2/C1 level are considered an advantage.

Aufgaben

• Administer, maintain and continuously improve enterprise Microsoft server environments.
• Install, configure and manage Microsoft Windows Server infrastructure (Windows Server 2016 and newer).
• Perform server patching, lifecycle management and infrastructure updates.
• Manage and maintain Microsoft Active Directory, including users, groups, permissions and security policies.
• Support and further develop enterprise identity and access management solutions.
• Administer Microsoft Entra ID and hybrid identity environments.
• Manage and operate ADFS and/or Okta authentication services.
• Implement and integrate Microsoft System Center solutions, with a strong focus on Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM).
• Develop, maintain and optimize PowerShell scripts and automation solutions to improve operational efficiency.
• Analyse system, application and event logs to troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues.
• Participate in infrastructure projects, platform improvements and technology upgrades.
• Document system changes, operational procedures and technical implementations.
• Work according to ITIL best practices, including Incident, Problem, Change and Service Request Management.
• Contribute to the strategic evolution and modernization of the enterprise infrastructure.
