Zusammenfassung

dnata Switzerland AG, Zurich Flughafen, is seeking a Senior System & Network Engineer to maintain and advance our Windows Server, AD/Entra ID and cloud environments across Zurich and Geneva airports.

You will lead network and security improvements, participate in major infrastructure projects and coach IT teams, while coordinating with Emirates Group cyber security operations.

Qualifikationen

• 5+ years in system or network engineering with end-to-end infrastructure ownership.
• Deep hands-on experience with Windows Server, AD/Entra ID and M365 cloud.
• Proven virtualization, storage and backup/disaster recovery experience, incl. migrations.
• Solid networking and firewall know-how; PowerShell scripting and structured work approach.
• Certifications and CS degree are a plus; aviation experience is bonus, not required.
• Fluent English and German; willing to work on-site at Zurich Airport and cover stand-by duties.

• Keep the environment secure via standards, checks and remediation with cyber security ops.
• Evaluate new technologies and contribute to vendor and contract management.

Senior System & Network Engineer

To strengthen our team, we are looking for a person in the IT at Zürich Flughafen (Kloten) – ZRH.

Responsibilities

• Administer and develop our Windows Server, Active Directory / Entra ID, virtualization, storage and backup environment across ZRH and GVA
• Own, administer and further develop the network environment: firewalls, switching, VLAN design and segmentation, wifi and VOIP, in coordination with the airport providers
• Deliver the infrastructure projects of our roadmap – among them firewall replacements, a full network redesign and a hypervisor migration from VMware to KVM
• Act as 3rd level escalation point for our IT Support and Application Support colleagues, with coaching and knowledge transfer as part of the role
• Keep the environment secure: security standards, regular checks and vulnerability remediation, in cooperation with the Emirates Group cyber security operations centre
• Evaluate new technologies, shape replacement and upgrade decisions and contribute to vendor and contract management

Profile

• 5+ years as System Engineer, Network Engineer or similar, with end-to-end infrastructure ownership – ideally in an SME or operations-critical environment
• Deep hands‑on expertise in Windows Server, Active Directory / Entra ID and the M365 / cloud environment
• Proven experience with virtualization, storage and backup / disaster recovery, including migration projects
• Solid networking and firewall know‑how (CCNA level or equivalent); scripting skills (e.g. PowerShell) and a structured, documentation‑driven way of working
• Certifications (Microsoft, Cisco, VMware) and a degree in Computer Science or comparable are a plus; aviation or ground handling experience is a bonus, not a requirement
• Strong communication skills in English and German; readiness to work on‑site at Zurich Airport and share stand‑by (Pikett) duties with the team
