Job summary

Electra is seeking a Senior Structural Assembly Manufacturing Engineer to shape the DFMA-driven production of the EL9 aircraft. You will translate design into repeatable manufacturing processes, oversee supplier collaboration, and guide tooling and production readiness from prototype to production.

You will work closely with Product Engineering and suppliers to ensure manufacturability, quality, and schedule targets are achieved while enabling scalable, cost-efficient manufacturing across the

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautical, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years aerospace manufacturing engineering experience, with focus on structural assembly and industrialization.
• Strong DFMA implementation during product development.
• Experience reviewing drawings, 3D models, GD&T, tolerances, and changes from manufacturing view.
• Experience developing manufacturing plans, assembly sequences, tooling requirements, and manufacturing docs.
• Experience supporting prototype, development, or first-production builds.
• Experience working with aircraft structures suppliers and production activities.
• Ability to collaborate across Product Eng, Stress, Quality, Supplier Quality, Supply Chain, Tooling and Production.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Product Engineering to ensure DFMA and scalable production.
• Review designs for producibility, assembly sequence, tolerance stack-up, tooling, and risk.
• Participate in design trade studies and reviews, flag manufacturing constraints early.
• Provide Manufacturing Engineering oversight with suppliers and clarify intent.
• Define assembly tooling concepts and locating strategies with Tooling Eng.
• Review supplier approaches and production readiness to align with requirements.
• Support prototype fabrication, initial builds, and ramp-up with hands-on support.
• Coordinate manufacturing issue resolution with cross-functional teams.
• Capture lessons learned and drive improvements into design and planning.
• Drive ramp-up constraints resolution and continuous improvement.
