Job summary

Flexion is seeking a senior Software Engineer to join its experienced infrastructure team in Zurich. You will build platforms, tooling, and deployment frameworks powering Flexion’s AI stack, taking projects from inception through rollout and long-term ownership.

You will lead cross-team efforts, influence architectural direction, and collaborate with research, robotics, and deployment teams to deliver reliable, scalable systems with strong testing and documentation practices.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Software Engineering (or equivalent) with significant professional software engineering experience.
• Experience owning production software projects end-to-end and influencing technical decisions across teams.
• Proficiency in Python and at least one compiled language (C++, Go, Rust).
• Strong software architecture skills with modular, testable designs and scalable performance.
• Experience with production backend systems: APIs, cloud infra and databases.
• Solid experience with Git/GitHub, CI/CD, Docker, automated testing, code review.

Responsibilities

• Build tooling and platforms for robots and real-world deployments, including APIs and SDKs.
• Lead projects end-to-end from scoping to ownership.
• Shape architectural direction through reviews across teams.
• Collaborate with research, robotics and deployment teams to meet needs with reliable platforms and tools.
• Raise the bar on engineering practices and documentation.
• Contribute to AI development tooling and AI-assisted development practices.
