Jobbeschreibung

Hexagon Robotics is a division of Hexagon – a global leader in precision measurement. The division develops humanoid robots for industrial sectors to address labor shortages and accelerate the transition from automation to autonomy. Our first humanoid, AEON, was launched in June 2025 and is already in pilots with five customers.

We are looking for a Software Engineer in Test to own and drive the software testing strategy for our robotics software stack.

This is not a traditional QA role. You will be the technical leader for software quality, helping teams build reliable, scalable, and maintainable test solutions across our robotics stack. You will define how testing is performed, establish best practices, build modern test frameworks, drive automation, define meaningful quality KPIs, and ensure testing is fully integrated into our development lifecycle.

You will work closely with Software Engineers, Robotics Engineers, DevOps, Systems Engineering, and QA to create a quality culture where testing is everyone's responsibility while providing the tools, frameworks, and guidance needed to make that possible.

Your Mission

Own and drive the software testing strategy for Aeon, Hexagon's next-generation humanoid robot.

Define, implement, and continuously evolve testing methodologies spanning unit, integration, simulation, hardware-in-the-loop, system, and end-to-end testing.

Design, develop, and maintain scalable test frameworks, automation infrastructure, tooling, and test suites across the robotics software stack.

Establish and promote software testing best practices, quality standards, and engineering guidelines across development teams.

Define, implement, and monitor quality KPIs, test coverage metrics, and release readiness criteria to drive continuous improvement.

Partner closely with robotics algorithm experts, software engineers, systems engineers, DevOps, and QA teams to ensure high software quality and testability.

Mentor and educate developers on testing techniques, automation, and quality engineering practices.

Contribute hands-on to the development of automated tests and support teams in building high-quality testable software.

Actively participate in system integration, validation, and testing on real robotic hardware.

Thrive in a fast-moving, interdisciplinary environment developing a novel robot from prototype through industrialization and serial production.

Your Skillset
  • BSc or MSc in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in software testing or quality engineering
  • Strong software development skills in modern C++ and Python.
  • Proven experience designing and maintaining test automation frameworks and testing infrastructure.
  • Solid understanding of software quality practices, testing strategies, and the software development lifecycle.
  • Experience defining and tracking quality metrics, KPIs, and engineering effectiveness measures.
  • Hands-on experience integrating test automation into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proficiency with Linux-based software development in embedded or robotics environments.
  • Experience with ROS2, distributed systems, simulation environments, or autonomous systems is a strong plus.
  • Experience with nVidia Jetson, Thor, or similar embedded computing platforms is a bonus.
  • Familiarity with safety-critical development processes and relevant industry standards is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence engineering practices across teams.
  • ISTQB Advanced Level certification is a plus.
What You’ll Get
  • Flexible working hours and a hybrid model for real work-life balance
  • CHF 500 mobility credit for sustainable commuting
  • Bonus system & strong pension contributions
  • Tailored training & development opportunities
  • Relocation support for a smooth start
  • Discounts on health, mobility & entertainment
  • Team events and a flat hierarchy where your voice counts
  • A warm, international culture built on respect and collaboration
