Zusammenfassung

Hexagon Robotics, a division of Hexagon, is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the electronics team behind our humanoid robot platform. You will design hardware and grow engineers, aligning objectives with product goals and coordinating with mechanics, firmware, and production.

You’ll own hiring, career development, and build a healthy team culture while driving quality through reviews, test coverage, and robust hardware design practices.

Qualifikationen

  • Proven leadership experience with coaching and career development.
  • Strong hands-on electronics background with production experience.
  • Experience in hardware-heavy, multi-disciplinary environments.
  • Ability to lead through influence without micromanaging.
  • Solid understanding of design reviews, DFM/DFT, EMC, and safety.

Aufgaben

  • Lead electronics engineering team building the electronics subsystem of our robot platform — power distribution and battery systems, sensor and actuator electronics and compute carrier-boards.
  • Contribute to design and implementation yourself (schematic capture and layout in Altium and lab bring-up)
  • Define technical direction with the Tech Lead and align on electronics architecture, supporting engineering decisions.
  • Translate product needs into clear team objectives, milestones and delivery plans with product owners
  • Own engineering management fundamentals: hiring, onboarding, 1:1s, feedback, performance and career development, building a healthy team culture
  • Drive high quality and reliability of electronics through design reviews, best practices, and test coverage at component, board and system level
  • Remove obstacles and resolve cross-system issues spanning electronics, firmware and mechanics
  • Strengthen collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders to produce production-ready hardware
  • Continuously improve processes, ECAD tooling, lab instrumentation, and hardware design debt

Jobbeschreibung

Hexagon Robotics is a division of Hexagon – a global leader in precision measurement. The division develops humanoid robots for industrial sectors to address labor shortages and accelerate the transition from automation to autonomy. Our first humanoid, AEON, was launched in June 2025 and is already in pilots with five customers.

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead and grow the team behind the electronics of our robots. You are designing hardware yourself while developing the engineers in your team, aligning objectives with company goals, and keeping collaboration tight across mechanics, firmware, and production.

Your Mission
  • Lead and grow a team of electronics engineers building the electronics subsystem of our robot platform — power distribution and battery systems, sensor and actuator electronics and compute carrier-boards.
  • Contribute to design and implementation yourself (schematic capture and layout in Altium and lab bring-up)
  • Partner closely with the team's Tech Lead to define technical direction, drive alignment on the electronics architecture, and support sound engineering decisions.
  • Plan and steer execution: translate product and system needs into clear team objectives, milestones, and an achievable delivery plan together with the product owners
  • Own the engineering management fundamentals: actively hiring, onboarding, 1:1s, feedback, performance and career development, and building a healthy team culture.
  • Drive high quality and reliability of the electronics through design and schematic reviews, engineering best practices, and systematic test coverage at component, board and integrated system level.
  • Remove obstacles and drive resolution of complex cross-system issues spanning electronics, firmware and mechanics.
  • Strengthen collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders (mechanical engineers, firmware engineers, QA, product, systems, manufacturing and supply chain) to turn capabilities into production-ready, manufacturable and maintainable hardware.
  • Continuously improve how the team works: process, ECAD tooling and component libraries, lab instrumentation and measurement traceability, and pragmatic management of hardware design debt.
Your Skillset
  • Proven line management experience (e.g., team lead / engineering manager / tech lead with people responsibility), including coaching, feedback, and supporting career growth.
  • Strong hands-on electronics engineering background with production experience using Altium ECAD and external EMS partners.
  • Proven track record within hardware-heavy, multi-disciplinary environments – taking real-world products from idea to delivery while navigating regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to lead through influence: facilitate technical discussions, stay calm, listen actively, value clarity, align stakeholders, and support the Tech Lead and engineers in decision-making without micromanaging.
  • Solid understanding of hardware quality practices: design and schematic reviews, DFM / DFT, test strategies, bring-up and debugging, EMC and electrical safety, and production readiness.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills: you can set direction, create clarity, and keep execution moving across multiple stakeholders and teams.
  • A pragmatic, delivery-oriented mindset while maintaining long-term maintainability and architecture integrity.
What You’ll Get
  • Flexible working hours and a hybrid model for real work-life balance
  • CHF 500 mobility credit for sustainable commuting
  • Bonus system & strong pension contributions
  • Tailored training & development opportunities
  • Relocation support for a smooth start
  • Discounts on health, mobility & entertainment
  • Team events and a flat hierarchy where your voice counts
  • A warm, international culture built on respect and collaboration
