We are seeking an institutional-grade Senior Proprietary Grains Trader. This position is strictly focused on financial proprietary trading across global grains and oilseeds markets; there is no physical asset management, operational logistics, or commercial merchandising involved. The successful candidate will leverage deep fundamental knowledge gained from the ABCD trading houses and a proven track record of discretionary risk-taking to capture absolute return alpha. You will operate with a high degree of autonomy, managing financial futures, options, and OTC derivatives curves within established risk parameters.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy Financial Capital Mandate: Formulate and independently execute high-conviction, directional, relative value, and cross-commodity spread strategies across global agricultural derivatives (e.g., CBOT, Matif).
• Translate Physical Insights into Financial Alpha: Utilize your deep understanding of global cash markets, freight dynamics, basis, and trade flows to anticipate dislocations in the futures curves ahead of the broader market.
• Macro & Micro Fundamental Modelling: Conduct along with our research team rigorous analysis of global balance sheets, regional supply/demand fundamentals, weather models, and macroeconomic factors impacting agricultural commodities.
• Portfolio & Risk Management: Own the end-to-end portfolio construction, managing capital allocation, daily Value-at-Risk (VaR), stress testing, and trailing drawdown limits.
• Market Intelligence Integration: Maintain and expand a premier institutional network of brokers, industry analysts, and commercial contacts to synthesize actionable real-time market insights.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 7 years of successful trading experience within the grains and oilseeds space.
• Background: Must have foundational career experience working within large international trading houses (ABCDs or equivalents) managing cash books, coupled with subsequent or concurrent proprietary trading experience at a major trading house or hedge fund.
• Proven Track Record: A verifiable, consistent history of generating absolute returns (PnL) with an institutional-grade Sharpe/Sortino ratio and strict risk-mitigation discipline.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Agricultural Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
