Job summary

Stadler is seeking an experienced Project Leader to manage complex ETCS onboard system integration projects in a demanding railway environment. You will oversee the full lifecycle from sales handover to warranty, ensuring delivery on schedule, budget and quality while maintaining customer satisfaction.

You will lead cross-functional teams, coordinate with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders, and mentor junior PMs. Fluency in English is required; German is an asset.

Qualifications

• University degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or similar).
• Extensive experience in project or program management within complex engineering or railway environments.
• Proven track record delivering complex multidisciplinary projects with scope, schedule, budget, quality and customer satisfaction.
• Strong knowledge of railway standards and regulations (e.g., TSI CCS, UNISIG, CENELEC).
• Experience with ETCS onboard systems and railway signaling is a strong advantage.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Proven ability to coach and mentor project managers and drive knowledge sharing.
• Strategic, structured, results-oriented mindset with passion for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical and commercial management of complex ETCS onboard system integration projects and programs.
• Manage projects throughout their full lifecycle from Sales handover to warranty end.
• Ensure achievement of schedule, budget, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction objectives.
• Define execution strategies and coordinate all project activities for successful delivery.
• Manage customers, suppliers, partners, and internal stakeholders, building strong relationships.
• Proactively manage risks, opportunities, changes, and dependencies.
• Monitor and control project financial performance including forecasting, costs, revenues, profitability.
• Ensure contractual compliance and provide accurate and timely project reporting.
• Lead, motivate, and develop cross-functional project teams and foster collaboration.
• Coach and mentor project managers and new team members, promoting knowledge sharing.
• Drive continuous improvement of PM methodologies, tools, governance and ways of working.
• Contribute to the development and maturity of the PM organization, shaping standards and processes.
• Support strategic business objectives by improving overall project and organizational performance.
