Zusammenfassung

Snowflake is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to advance Observe by Snowflake, built on OpenTelemetry. You will design OTel Collector components, contribute to the OpenTelemetry community, and own the Observe Agent with its pipeline and release strategy.

Ideal candidates will deepen telemetry standards, translate customer needs into upstream features, and represent Snowflake in OTel discussions and events.

Qualifikationen

• Experience with the OpenTelemetry ecosystem (Collector, SDKs, or instrumentation libraries).
• Strong Go programming skills and proficiency in at least one SDK language (Java, Python, JS/TS, or .NET).
• Experience contributing to Open-Source projects with multi-vendor governance.
• Experience building cloud-native services with AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Aufgaben

• Design and implement OTel Collector components (receivers, processors, exporters) and SDK instrumentation libraries.
• Collaborate with the OpenTelemetry community by contributing code, RFCs, and reviews to ensure high-quality contributions.
• Architect and own the Observe Agent - its extension points, pipeline architecture, and release strategy.
• Contribute to OpenTelemetry Semantic Conventions for standardized telemetry schemas.
• Work with product and field teams to translate customer instrumentation needs into upstream contributions.
• Represent Snowflake/Observe in the OTel community and engage with maintainers at other vendors.
