Michael Bailey Associates is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join a private cloud platform team. You will design, engineer and continuously develop complex enterprise and data centre networks, blending traditional networking with modern infrastructure.

You will collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, Development and Operations to implement network architecture and automation using IaC, Ansible, Python and Kubernetes, ensuring security and performance.

Qualifikationen

• Several years of experience as a Senior Network Engineer with architecture responsibility or Network Architect in enterprise/data centre environments.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise networking including routing, switching, QoS, BGP and OSPF.
• Experience with Linux in infrastructure environments and network automation using IaC.

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join a private cloud platform team. You will take responsibility for the design, engineering and continuous development of complex enterprise and data centre network environments.

Working closely with Product Owners, Architects, Development and Operations teams, you will help shape and implement network architecture that supports a modern private cloud platform.

The role combines network architecture, enterprise networking, automation, infrastructure as code, Kubernetes and cloud technologies, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of traditional networking and modern infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, engineer and continuously develop network architectures and infrastructure for enterprise and data centre environments.
• Work closely with Product Owners, Architects, Development and Operations teams to deliver project and platform objectives.
• Take architectural responsibility for complex network solutions and provide technical guidance to engineering teams.
• Design and implement network segmentation and security concepts.
• Ensure the quality, stability, performance, availability and security of network services.
• Automate network and infrastructure services using Infrastructure as Code and configuration management.
• Develop and maintain network automation using Ansible, Python, Bash and Git.
• Operate, troubleshoot and continuously improve complex enterprise and data centre networks.
• Work with networking technologies within virtualisation and Kubernetes environments, including technologies such as Cilium.
• Evaluate and introduce new technologies to further develop the private cloud platform.
• Create technical concepts, architecture documentation and implementation designs.
• Develop and execute Proofs of Concept (PoCs) for new network and infrastructure technologies.
• Support troubleshooting, root cause analysis and resolution of complex network issues.
• Collaborate with security, infrastructure and development teams to ensure secure and scalable network services.

Technical Requirements:

• Several years of experience as a Senior Network Engineer with architecture responsibility or Network Architect in an enterprise or data centre environment.
• Strong experience designing and implementing network architectures, network segmentation and security concepts.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise networking, including:
• Routing & Switching
• QoS
• BGP
• OSPF
• Strong knowledge of Cisco Data Centre Networking.
• Very good understanding of TCP/IP, including:
• IPv4 / IPv6
• DNS
• DHCP
• NAT
• Experience working with Linux in infrastructure environments.
• Experience with networking technologies in virtualisation and Kubernetes environments.
• Knowledge or practical experience with Cilium or similar Kubernetes networking technologies.

• Hands-on experience with network automation using:
