Qualifikationen

• 3+ years experience in a Middle Office or Trade Support role in metals trading.
• Strong knowledge of physical and financial commodities trade lifecycles, especially concentrates.
• Proven experience with ETRM systems.
• Advanced Excel skills; VBA and/or Python knowledge are assets.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills; able to interact with senior stakeholders.
• Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

Aufgaben

• Ensure accurate and timely trade capture, position, and pricing reporting for the concentrates desk.
• Production of a daily P&L for the trading team with breakdown and drivers.
• Monitor risk exposures and trading limits, escalate breaches and propose mitigations.
• Collaborate with traders to understand and challenge trading strategies from risk and ops perspectives.
• Coordinate with back office, accounting, credit, and compliance to ensure seamless trade flow.
• Contribute to system and process improvements with IT and business analysts.
• Implement and enhance operational controls to reduce risk and ensure compliance.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Senior Middle Officer to support our Concentrates Metals trading desk. This role is critical in ensuring operational excellence, robust risk management, and process improvement across the full trade lifecycle.

The successful candidate will act as a key interface between front office and support functions, bringing deep experience in commodities operations, with a strong emphasis on metals concentrates. A sound understanding of operational risk, trade economics, and P&L attribution is essential. The role also involves mentoring junior staff and contributing to systems and process enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate and timely trade capture, position and pricing reporting for the concentrates desk
• Production of a daily P&L for the trading team, be able to produce a breakdown and explain key drivers (P&L attribution)
• Monitor risk exposures and trading limits, escalating breaches and proposing mitigation measures
• Work closely with traders to understand and challenge trading strategies from a risk and operations perspective
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders (back office, accounting, credit, and compliance) to ensure seamless trade flow
• Lead or contribute to system/process improvements in coordination with IT and business analysts
• Implement and enhance operational controls to reduce risk and ensure compliance

Technical expertise:

• 3+ years of experience in a Middle Office or Trade Support role, ideally in base or concentrates metals trading
• Strong knowledge of physical and financial commodities trade lifecycles, especially in concentrates
• Proven experience with ETRM systems
• Advanced Excel skills; VBA and/or Python knowledge is a strong asset
• Excellent analytical and communication skills; ability to interact with senior stakeholders
• Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
