Job summary

Roche’s 360 Labs Chapter within pRED seeks a senior scientist to lead the Microscopy Technology Platform. You will apply state-of-the-art optical microscopy to support early drug discovery, collaborating with biomedical scientists to design robust assays and workflows.

You will train users, optimize data quality, and contribute to platform development while staying abreast of cutting-edge imaging techniques to drive project success.

Qualifications

• You hold an MSc or PhD degree in biology, chemistry or physics, with either 5+ or 3+ years of experience, respectively, focused on fluorescence‑based optical microscopy approaches.
• You possess in‑depth theoretical and proven hands‑on knowledge in a variety of optical microscopy techniques across biological samples.
• You have a proven ability to collaborate within matrix teams, educating scientists on instruments and workflows.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-depth training to platform users on optical microscope instrumentation and fluorescence-based approaches.
• Plan, develop, execute, and validate fluorescence microscopy workflows and engage with stakeholders to discuss findings.
• Ensure high-quality FAIR data by QC and troubleshooting instruments and workflows.
• Stay current with emergent technologies in advanced optical microscopy.
