Job summary

Dentsu Zürich seeks a Senior Legal Counsel to join our international, collaborative team. You will draft and negotiate complex commercial agreements, advise on intellectual property, data protection, AI compliance, and regulatory issues while supporting internal investigations and governance programs.

Qualifications

• Very good academic record.
• Extensive post-qualification experience (~6 years) with law firm background.
• Swiss bar admission or equivalent.
• Strong commercial and economic understanding with negotiation skills.
• Experience in risk management and compliance programs.
• Good knowledge of corporate governance and IP law.
• Knowledge of AI legislation and compliance considerations.
• Ability to partner with business teams strategically.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Resilient and adaptable, bilingual English/German preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drafting and negotiation of complex commercial agreements such as CXM contracts, media service agreements, and data processing agreements.
• Management and record keeping of corporate matters.
• Advising on IP law, advertising, and competition law related to IT.
• Advising on AI compliance and internal/external AI tool terms.
• Maintaining risk register with General Counsel support.
• Providing legal and strategic guidance to stakeholders.
• Supporting internal investigations and cross-unit training.
• Advising on temporary employment, labor lease, nearshoring/offshoring issues.
• Data protection questions and practical legal solutions with stakeholders.
• Managing external lawyers and consultants.

For our legal team in Switzerland, we are looking for a dedicated Senior Legal Counsel as soon as possible.

Tasks

• Drafting and negotiation of complex commercial agreements: CXM contracts (website creation, app development, CRM management, etc.), media service agreements, personal data processing agreements and other contracts
• Management and record keeping of corporate matters
• Giving advice in the areas of intellectual property law relating to the IT sector (software development, licensing, etc.), advertising laws and competition law
• Giving advice in the area of AI (compliance in AI development, review of AI tool legal terms used internally or for client projects, etc.)
• Support of the General Counsel in keeping a risk register
• Provision of legal and strategic advice to stakeholders
• Support of internal investigations
• Close cooperation with the business units and training of the business units on relevant legal and compliance topics and processes
• Advice on issues relating to temporary employment, labor lease and nearshoring and offshoring
• Support and handling of questions around personal data protection
• Development of practical solutions and close collaboration with the business units and stakeholders
• Management of and liaising with external lawyers and consultants

Profile

• Very good academic record
• Extensive post-qualification experience (approximately 6 years), with law firm experience.
• Swiss bar admission
• Strong commercial and economic understanding, negotiating skills and a confident manner when dealing with stakeholders
• Significant experience and knowledge of key legal principles relating to specialist areas of law.
• Experience in risk management and managing compliance programs
• Good knowledge of corporate governance
• Very good communication and presentation skills.
• Solid knowledge of intellectual property law
• Solid knowledge of applicable legislation around AI
• Willingness to work closely with the business and support it as a strategic partner
• Results-oriented and efficient approach
