Job summary

Sword Group in Geneva is hiring a Java Developer to strengthen the client’s team on a business-critical fee and pricing application in a demanding banking environment. You will combine software engineering, production support, and application ownership to ensure long-term maintainability and operational continuity.

You will own the backend, build and maintain REST and SOAP interfaces with OpenAPI/Swagger, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• 7 to 15 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong expertise in Java 8 or later, ideally Java 17, with Spring and Spring Boot.
• Proven experience designing and maintaining REST/SOAP APIs, with OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Good command of Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server, including JPA/Hibernate and Liquibase.
• Practical experience with Git, Maven, CI/CD pipelines and automated testing (JUnit 5, Mockito, Cucumber).
• Good understanding of application security and software quality practices (OAuth2/OIDC, OWASP). Fluent English and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the fee and pricing application and drive a structured knowledge-transfer process with the current Java developer.
• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Java, Spring, and Spring Boot.
• Build and enhance REST and SOAP interfaces, including API specifications and documentation with OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Contribute to operational and administrative user interfaces using Vue.js or Angular when required.
• Manage integrations with Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server using JPA/Hibernate, SQL, PL/SQL, and Liquibase.
• Maintain and improve CI/CD processes based on Git, Maven, and YAML pipelines, including automated testing and quality controls.
• Provide production support by investigating incidents, addressing performance issues, and improving application stability, deployment, and rollback procedures.
• Document architecture, business rules, dependencies, operational procedures, and runbooks while collaborating closely with development, QA, security, platform, and business teams.
