Job summary

Labora Partners seeks a senior hardware engineer to own product hardware from planning through mass production. You will design mixed-signal, RF and digital boards, drive sampling, and ensure reliability in field use.

You will debug prototypes, verify designs meet specs, and support daily manufacturing. The role requires strong analog/digital skills, board-level experience, and occasional travel.

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years of hands-on electronic design in an R&D setting.
• Strong analog and digital design experience from schematic to layout.
• Experience taking boards into volume production; RF knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

The Company

Our client is an international group that designs and manufactures RFID and smart devices, sold worldwide. Engineering sits at the Swiss headquarters, where products are taken from first requirements to mass production. The R&D team is looking for a senior engineer to join its Hardware team, reporting to the Team Lead HW.

The role

You will own the hardware of products from planning to roll-out. That means designing the board, getting it through sampling, bringing it into production and keeping it healthy once it is out in the field.

What You Will Do

• Design mixed-signal, RF and digital boards, from low-level design based on user requirements to schematic, PCB layout and sampling
• Debug prototypes and pre-series, and verify that the design meets its specifications
• Take products into mass production and support daily manufacturing and industrialization issues
• Design test systems and production equipment for PCBA validation, at suppliers or at incoming inspection
• Manage change requests: second sources, alternative components, EOL, yield and quality improvements
• Analyse field returns and turn failure analysis into product improvements
• Keep design documentation, test plans and quality records aligned with production
• Follow new technologies and bring new solutions into the R&D team

What We Are Looking For

• 5 to 10+ years of hands-on electronic design in an R&D environment
• Solid experience in both analog and digital design, from schematic to layout
• Experience taking boards into volume production
• RF design in the sub-GHz and GHz ranges is a strong plus
• Knowledge of RFID technology is an asset
• Good English; Italian, German or French are welcome
• Willingness to travel occasionally
