Job summary

ABB in Switzerland is seeking a Senior Trade & Transportation Specialist to shape logistics for complex international projects. You will advise Sales, Project Management, Engineering and Supply Chain teams, identifying risks and developing cost-efficient transport concepts.

You will blend operational project logistics with strategic tender support, optimize costs and improve processes while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience in international transportation and project logistics, ideally with heavy lift or oversized cargo.
• Knowledge of freight forwarding, carrier management, logistics procurement, transportation risk assessment, customs procedures, Incoterms, export controls, and international trade regulations.
• Fluent in English and German; additional language skills are a plus.
• Commercial mindset to evaluate logistics solutions from a business and total cost perspective.

Responsibilities

• Act as logistics lead for complex international project shipments, including heavy lift, oversized and special transport requirements.
• Assess logistics risks, develop transportation concepts and advise key stakeholders; support tendering and project execution.
• Manage logistics service provider selection, RFQs and transportation execution while ensuring cost-effective, reliable and compliant solutions.
• Collaborate across internal teams and external partners to improve processes and drive continuous improvement.
