Job summary

MIMACOM AG is looking for a Senior/Expert Software Architect to join their team in Bern. Qualifications

• 5+ years as a software architect or 8+ years for expert level in Java enterprise environments.
• Hands-on expertise with Spring Boot, microservices, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Experience in security architecture including IAM/authentication and network segmentation.
• Knowledge of REST/OpenAPI, Kafka, and CI/CD tools like Jenkins.

Responsibilities

• Shape and drive solution design across complex enterprise projects.
• Design, document, and review solution architectures.
• Own microservices architectures and oversee containerization with Docker.

What You’ll Do

As part of ourarchitecture and engineering teams, you will shape and drive solution design across complex enterprise projects, particularly in the public sector and large-scale environments. Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing, documenting, and reviewing solution architectures (UML, ERD, arc42)
• Owning microservices architectures, including containerization and deployment with Docker and Kubernetes
• Defining and implementing security architectures (IAM, authentication, secrets management, network zoning, security policies)
• Designing APIs (REST/OpenAPI, CDC) and asynchronous integrations (Kafka, AsyncAPI)
• Ensuring quality through SonarQube, quality gates, and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, ArgoCD)
• Acting as a technical advisor to stakeholders, development teams, and clients

What You’ll Bring

We are seeking individuals who are team players with an analytical mindset. You’ll succeed in this position if you have:

• A degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or equivalent
• Strong experience as a software architect in Java enterprise environments (Spring/JEE):
  • Senior: 5+ years
  • Expert: 8+ years
• Hands-on expertise with Spring Boot, microservices, Docker, and Kubernetes
• Experience in security architecture (IAM/authentication, secrets management, network segmentation)
• Knowledge of REST/OpenAPI, Kafka, SonarQube, and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins)
• Experience with Git and Bitbucket in multiple projects
• German (C1 mandatory)andEnglish (B2); French is a plus
