Harmattan AI is seeking an Embedded Electrical Engineer to join the R&D team, owning compute modules and boards from system architecture through fabrication, bring-up and qualification. The role blends high-speed design with hands-on bench work to advance boards from prototype to production.

The candidate will lead design reviews, collaborate with software, mechanical, and validation teams, and couple FPGA/MPSoC experience with defense hardware know‑how to deliver mission-critical systems.

Qualifikationen

• MSc in electrical, computer, or a related engineering field; a PhD is a plus.
• 5 years minimum in embedded hardware design, from specification through bring-up and qualification into production.
• High-speed design including layout constraints, signal integrity, and validation with processor and external memory.
• In-depth knowledge of electronic CAD tools (e.g., Altium).
• Proficiency with electronic test equipment and planning thermal, vibration, EMC, and ESD qualification.
• Experience with fabrication and assembly partners on stack-up, via technology, and cost trade-offs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; capable of presenting results to engineers and senior stakeholders.
• FPGA or MPSoC design and defense hardware experience are strong advantages.

Aufgaben

• Board Design: design SoMs, baseboards, and test boards for compute platforms.
• High-Speed Digital Design: PCIe, 10 Gb Ethernet, USB 3.x, MIPI; manage layout constraints and signal integrity.
• Power Design: design power trees, sequencing, conversion topologies, verify power-up/down behaviour.
• Design Reviews: lead reviews from block diagram to fabrication release.
• Manufacture: work with PCB and EMS partners on stack-up and cost trade-offs.
• Bring Up and Qualification: define test plans, troubleshoot boards, run thermal, vibration, EMC, ESD tests.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: coordinate with embedded software, mechanical, and validation teams for flight qualification.
