Job summary

Viasat in Lausanne is seeking a Senior Electronic Hardware Engineer to reinforce our Product Development team. You will own the development cycle of electronic boards, designing and integrating analog and mixed-signal electronics for phased array antennas, and collaborating with System, RF, Mechanical and Software teams.

The role requires 7–10 years of hardware engineering experience in regulated environments, strong PCB/EMI-aware design, and hands-on lab work.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of proven hardware/electrical engineering experience in regulated environments
• Experience designing low-voltage, high-current power electronics with low-noise requirements
• Digital electronics and high-speed interfaces knowledge
• Breadboarding, architecture and schematic/layout design, simulation, prototype bring-up, design verification and production release
• Design for Manufacturing/Assembling/Testing/Maintenance
• Lab activities with test equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, vector network analyzer)
• Strong English communication skills (oral and written)
• Lausanne, Switzerland onsite presence at least 3 days per week
• Team player; hands-on; problem solver; open to collaboration with cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

• Own the development cycle of electronic boards
• Design, develop, test, optimize and integrate analog and mixed-signal electronics for phased array antennas
• Drive requirements, architecture and circuit design, component selection and procurement, PCB design, board bring up, testing and design + manufacturing documentation
• Partner with System, RF, Mechanical and Software teams
