RIVR, part of Amazon, is a robotics company pioneering Physical AI for real-world doorstep delivery. We are seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer - Functional Safety to own hardware-level Safe design for our custom electronics and perform FMEDA and SIL calculations.

You will design fault-tolerant circuits, implement hardware diagnostics, collaborate with firmware and systems teams, and produce Functional Safety documentation to meet SIL targets.

Qualifikationen

• Master’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
• 5+ years designing electronics hardware for Functional Safety certified products.
• Experience with IEC 61508 (preferred), ISO 13849 or ISO 26262.

Aufgaben

• Design fault-tolerant circuits for safety-critical subsystems and select appropriate safety architectures.
• Implement hardware diagnostics and monitoring to detect dangerous failures.
• Design circuits to enforce a defined safe state when faults are detected.
• Apply Common-Cause Failure mitigation techniques at the component and PCB level.
• Perform FMEDA and compute Safe Failure Fraction and Diagnostic Coverage.
• Build Reliability Block Diagrams and compute SIL metrics to verify targets.
• Derate components based on failure data, mission profiles and lifetime.
• Advise system architects on hardware safety constraints and review PCB layouts.
• Collaborate with firmware, mechanical and systems teams to integrate safety functions.
• Create and maintain Functional Safety documentation for hardware modules.
