Job summary

AlpineAI AG in Switzerland is seeking a Senior DevOps / Platform Engineer to own CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code. You will automate releases, scale clusters, and safeguard performance across on-prem infrastructure and model hardware in a startup-like environment.

The role reports to the CTO, with a small team and broad scope, including on-call responsibilities. Fluent German and English are required to collaborate effectively with engineers and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Solid production experience with containers and Kubernetes, and with GitOps-style delivery.
• Comfort managing secrets and access as code, with tooling such as SOPS or Vault, and least-privilege mindset.
• Experience operating stateful workloads with relational databases and caches.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with developers to build reliable and scalable development pipelines with automated releases.
• Coach frontend and backend engineers to monitor their code in live environments.
• Lead architecture discussions with focus on trade-offs, security, and cost.
• Streamline software releases with the development team and safeguard deployment integrity.
• Manage, monitor, and scale infrastructure, including hardware behind models, to maintain performance.
• Maintain thorough deployment documentation and tooling.
• Ensure system reliability and availability, even during challenges.
• Share on-call duties with the team.
